I am a student who is looking to earn some additional money. I am
specifically interested in the "work-at-home" programs which are all
over the internet. However, many of these programs are scams or
charge money for reports that don't even guarantee jobs. I am looking
to perform data entry, act as a typist, stuff envelopes, or do any
other related activity. I have excellent computer skills and access
to the internet. The job I am looking for must fulfill the following
requirements:
1) No "in-house" training can be required. Training over the internet
is perfectly acceptable, but I do not want to have to leave home.
2) I must not have to sell anything to anyone.
3) I must not have to refer people on the internet to the program, or
post ads on the internet or elsewhere.
4) I can be paid per hour or per document/page/report/etc, through the
latter is preferable.
5) I can be paid by check, Paypal or direct deposit
6) I must not have to pay a fee to apply for the job UNLESS the post
position is guaranteed.

I simply want to work as a typist or other clerical position. I have
no prior experience in this matter, however I am intelligent and can
learn extremely quickly.

Please find at least three jobs or sites which will allow me to apply
for jobs which fall under the above specifications. I am also not
looking for sites such as Jobs.com, Monster.com, etc, that allow me to
post my resume and allow employers to search for me.

Dear rmn,

What you are looking for seems like it ought to be easily found. The
truth is, while such jobs do exist, the competition for them is even
more fierce than for “regular” jobs, and it can be a real challenge.
For example, the job of medical transcriptionist requires specialized
training, special equipment, and most employers require a minimum of
two years verifiable experience.

Nevertheless, there are some sites that do post legitimate job
opportunities for which you can apply. But you do have to keep in
mind that most such sites, especially the ones that have the best
jobs, do require a membership – either a one-time fee or ongoing
monthly subscription. Still, there are some free ones, and listed
below are those I’ve found that either are free to use, or have a free
demo or evaluation that might work for you, although most of them
require at least a registration. Go ahead and register – some will
send you updates and provide more links. Oh - and don't discount
Monster.com. They frequently post jobs from the CareersAtHome website
(among others), that you'd ordinarily have to pay to see.

Here are the links:
Scroll down to see the free job listings:
http://www.speedysecretarial.com/
Free trial offer: http://www.youdictate.com/
Free leads and mailing list: http://www.sohojobs.com/
Free demo with real jobs (look for the link above the sign-in boxes):
http://work-at-home-jobs-xcelerator.com/jobs/login/all.cgi
Technically a paid site, but you can view (and sometimes email) the
job offers for free: http://www.tjobs.com/
Register to see more:
http://www.allfreelancework.com/nologinprojects.php
Offers a free 7-day evaluation (good site):
http://www.freelanceworkexchange.com

In finding these links I have done some extensive searching over many
months time, using the following terms:

clerical jobs online
telecommuting
work at home jobs
freelance jobs
secretarial jobs online
home office opportunities

I hope you find these links helpful. Please ask if anything isn’t
clear.
I wish you best of luck.

You could try looking at http://www.smarterwork.com/ also http://www.smarteric.com/
However, I have not ever managed to get anything from either.
