How many English language movies have been made about (or set in) World War II?

It will be difficult, if not impossible, to determine how many movies
are "set in" WWII since some movies merely mention the war and in
others is is merely assumed that this is the era or setting. There
does happen to be one fellow who appears to be trying his best to keep
track of such movies. In his collection he lists 600 known World War
II movies.

The Internet Movie Database lists 5574 war movies of which 1791 are
believed to be set in or about World War II.

Since this may be the closest we can come to an acurate answer, does
