What are the 20 precisely scheduled (released at a pre-specified date
and preferably time) publicly available news releases that best meet
the following criteria:
1.	Important for fundamental value of some (1 or more; number not
important) of the highest-weighted 50 stocks in the S&P 500 (available
at http://indexarb.com/indexComponentWtsSP500.html)
2.	News is firm-specific (eg earnings report) or industry specific (eg
pharmaceutical sales)
It will also be very helpful if you describe your search methods (and
suggest new ones), so that we might find other news releases if we
need to.

For example, quarterly earnings are important for the fundamental
value of stocks and the news release comes at pre-specified dates and
times. Thus the list of news releases might include:
-Quarterly earnings reports	(brief description or link if name isn?t
self-explanatory)

chebyshev-ga,

I rather doubt there are 20 such items...not if you expect them to be
specific to a particular firm or industry.

Seems to me there are more like five or so.

Most of the important pre-sheduled news items are either firm earnings
announcements, or release of government or insitutional stats like the
consumer price index, consumer sentiment, productivity, etc. These
don't bear on indiivual firms, though some of them are certainly
relevant to particular industry segments.

Let me know your thoughts on this.
