Hello,

If I have a web site which I would like to enable for WAP clients.
What are options?

I do have the ability to some degree to create a subset of the site in
simpler form for a probable live conversion tool/service to pickup the
elements off of and serve the WML content to the mobile of the
visitor.

Thank you.

There are so many options... it might be helpful to narrow this a
little based upon your server environment. Would you prefer a
solution based upon PHP, Perl, ASP, or Cold Fusion? If you currently
have no preference, I would recommend PHP.

Hello Snapanswer,

I would prefer both PHP and Perl. :-)

Hi again Lizardnation! I hope you haven't gotten tired of my answers.
:)

Anyway, are you looking for products that WAP enable your products or
are you looking for technical articles on how you could go about this?

I would store my site data in XML format. That way you can easy
transform your data into multiple formats such as XHTML, WML, or PDF
using Extensible Stylesheet Language Transoformations (XSLT). You
simple define a template of how to convert XML into another format and
then run it through a XSLT processor to get the new format. A perfect
working example of this is Cocoon by Apache:
http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/index.html

You could also accomplish this using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

A good product for XML, WML, XSL, HTML develpoment is Altova's XML

The resources are extremely useful and have other uses in other areas
so I was happy to run into them.

Thanks again. :-)
