Question ID: 738814
I have a Yahoo! Mail e-mail account. I forward all of my Yahoo!
e-mail messages to a Cingular Wireless Blackberry 8700 Device.
Increasingly, more and more of my incoming mail is spam. Yahoo mail
appears to have a built in spam filter, but it seems that I can only
activate it if I am using POP or Web access to view my mail. If I
choose to forward my e-mail to a different address (in this case my
Cingular wireless e-mail address) it doesn't look like I have the
ability to have Yahoo filter the e-mail for spam before it is sent.
Can someone please help suggest a solution that will filter my e-mail
for spam before it is sent to my blackberry. I have not, by the way,
been able to figure out a way to have Cingular filter the incoming
messages for spam, but would be willing to consider that solution too,
if possible. Thanks!!!

i guess you are using a BlackBerry Internet Service account. (Non BES).

The easiest way for you to do this would be.
 (in yahoo settings)
i) to have all your junk mail sent directly to your trash bin.
ii) that way when mail hits your yahoo account and the account is
polled. it does not pick up the messages in the trash bin.

if you were on a BES. You could set up a spam filter (message header)
and have all your spam messages go to one requisite folder. Then
through "blackberry redirector settings", you would tell it not to
forward messages going to the spam folder. that would have fixed your
problem for sure.

I would also recommend you try http://www.blackberryforums.com/ for
future blackberry related problems.
