You should try Qchex http://www.qchex.com/ - It is very easy to use
and they use a pay as you go plan which is quite affordable,
https://www.qchex.com/qc_sp.asp

Qchex is a financial service that lets you send and receive printable
checks securely over the Internet. Qchex offers you another way to pay
by check from your existing FDIC Insured checking account at your
bank. Since Qchex does not actually transfer the funds, the amount you
want to pay by Qchex is only limited by funds available in your
existing checking account when checks are physically presented by the
payee. Once your Qchex checks have cleared, they will appear on your
bank statement. Qchex is great for personal and business use.

Thank you for your assistance. With Qchex I will have to setup my
checking account online with them and I do not want that. What I want
is a software I an install om my computer with the capability of
creating checks and emailing it to designated payees who then can
print it out.Do you know of a software.

Sorry digene, I did not realise that you did not want to have an
account with an online service. I do not know of any other software
which allows for emails to be sent directly, however, I have thought
of and tested a way for you to be able to email checks to people as
PDF files. I hope it will help.

You can download any of the many free check printing softwares which
are available on the web. I have tested the one on
http://www.checkprintingsoftware.com/download/

Then download and install the freeware Doro PDF Writer:
http://www.geocities.com/the_real_sz/misc/doro.htm

Now you can make a check using the check printing software, but print
it to the virtual PDF printer which is installed via Doro. This will
write the check out as a PDF file which you can then email to people
as well as save for your records. They can then print out the PDF, as
PDF is a ubiquitous format which they will be able to read easily.

Best,
Keystroke-ga
