I wanted to email a non standard font (Alley Cat) to someone who is going to print up my power point slides. But instead of copying the font to my desktop folder, I moved them. Now it seems I can't just move them back as I get an error "Unable to install font. File "...\ALLB___.PFB is either invalid or damaged." Is there a way to undo this or is the file really damaged? It seems that I can pay to download the font, but isn't there a way to undo the "move"? Any other suggestions? Including if I have to download it does it matter what site I use? |

Hi maui20-ga. I suppose that during the moving, the file got corrupted and thus cannot be reinstalled. However, windows would have undid the move if you have right-clicked and clicked "Undo Move" in the fonts folder IMMEDIATELY after you realised the mistake. Not very useful now, but will be applicable should it happen again. Have you tried sending the file to your friend? Was he able to install it successfully? If so, then it could be some other problem. Downloading the from different sites usually will give you the same font nevertheless. Cheers dyknight |

Try doing a system restore, restore your computer(restore point) to a date prior to losing your font, and after you got the font to start of with. |

the font is probably on one of your computer's OS cd's and you can load the cd and search for the fonts directory. and if not you can just find the font online and put it back this place seems promising http://www.fonts.com/FindFonts/ |
