My mother was previously holding a Portugese passport and subsequently
submitted her portugese nationality for British passport. Her UK
passport was issued in Kenya ( British colony than). After getting her
British passport she returned to India and and got married but never
entered UK on the passport and never used it. The passport expired in
1968 and she has never renewed it since nor did she ever issue herself
an Indian passport. After the dual nationality agreement in India ,
last year she got herself a Indian passport. Can she renew her British
passport and what would be the procedure? Are her children entitled to
a British nationality? Pls advise

Snobby,
Finding the answer to your question may be a bit more difficult and
time-consuming than a Researcher wants to invest for the $1.50 he or
she would receive.
You might read the FAQs and "Answers Help & Tips" that you can click on below.

I seem to remember that after the initial recognition of residents of
some British colonies that became independent, there was later a
restriction on their rights to immigrate to the UK and on recognition
of their children as British citizens.
BUT I may be wrong.

Here are a couple of sites that may help:

http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/British_nationality_law
http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Indian_nationality_law

Perhaps someone else can interpret this information.
Good luck, Myoarin
