I've tried doing quite a bit of my own research regarding nonstick (including teflon) pans and cookware generally, and whether it's safe, but there seem to be a lot of conflicting reports. See this article: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2005/06/15/FDGMFD2KM01.DTL. Is "anodized aluminum" the same thing? (i.e. the Calphalon One pans?) Assuming I go with a "non"-nonstick set of pans, what IS recommended? Isn't aluminum also unsafe? Is stainless steel the best bet? And is there a recommended set of pans (quality, but affordable)? |
