I need to find out what the volume of home moves per annum is in the
UK and ROI. This includes owned and rented (social or private)
accommodation. UK figures are often split by England, Wales, Scotland,
Northern Ireland. This is fine as long as the figures tie-up. But
Republic of Ireland must be separate. Recent figures (post 2002) are
needed, and preferably at least two consecutive years. (Figures such
as "11% of people move house" on sites like IAmMoving.com are no good
to me - I need numbers from credible sources.)

Splits required:
- UK / RoI
- Owned / Rented (pref. Private Rental / Social)

Other information like how many are
within 2 miles, urban to rural moves, etc, appreciated.

<I have researched your question.

The latest government report on the number of peole moving home is
based on 2001 data and contains the level of detail that you require.

There is also a 2004 figure for the number of moves from a credit
rating company based on electoral register data. However it does not
breakdown the figures in the splits that you require.

Would any of this information be of interest?>
