My husband and I marry for almost for 4 years.I am Japanese and my husband is an American and he is in Military, and we got married and we did all paper work and he got the order to CA, so we moved here.I thought it was hard to work on our marriage, but I was very sure that it would be fine, but my husband left for Iraq for 7 months and he came back and a few weeks later, he told me that he wanted to divorce and his mind was already made, but we went to counseling together, didn't work, so I agreed to divorce. I am just wondering if we need to get divorced in Japan or we can do here in CA. If we divorce here, Do I just need to turn the paper in or don't have to do anything in Japan? Thank you very much. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I think you just get divorsed here in California. It should be recognized in Japan and in the US. There are probably reciprical laws. |
