Hello

There is one journal which covers the subject of Theater History.
'Theater Survey' is published by the American Society for Theatre
Research:

http://www.astr.umd.edu/ASTRPubs.html

It is described as the "American Journal of Theater History" by the
library of Western Oregon University, which has copies going back
twenty years, see:

http://library.wou.edu/search/i?SEARCH=0040-5574

Their home page is at:

http://library.wou.edu

You might also wish to note that: "The American Society for Theatre
Research maintains an active online discussion list. Topics vary from
specific inquiries regarding theatre minutiae to extended discussions
about historical information......."

http://www.astr.umd.edu/ASTR-L.html

You can search the discussion archive here:

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need any
clarification.

Regards - Leli

search notes:

"theater OR theatre history" "magazine OR journal" led me to this
page:

http://www.wou.edu/provost/library/subjects/theateranddance.htm

It has many links on theater and dance, but unfortunately most of them
are not historical.

I wonder if you might also be interested in "American Theaters:
Performance Halls of the Nineteenth Century" by David Naylor, Joan
Dillon and Jim Dillon?
You'll find details about this book at:
