I washed a white shirt in the laundry and it came out of the machine
pale pink. I can not bleach the shirt because it also has blue and
green stripes. How do I get it white again. (I've already tried
soaking it in white vinegar.

There are a couple of products for this puropse. In the UK there is
Dygon, Colour-Run and a couple of others. Try the laundry aisle of a
large supermarket. As far as I can remember, they are usually based on
sodium hypochlorate.
They usually have a warning saying that you should only use them on
whites, but I have used them on striped cotton and poly-cotton with no
problems.
