I am looking for a unified source to obtain the list of upcoming
events in the dallas fort worth area. I need sports events,
conventions, concerts, arts and car shows, most any and all public
events of any size. I can get some from chamber of commerce, some from
hotels, some from sports arenas, but would like one unified source.
Surely there is a service that puts such lists together? I would like
to find an on line source, but will accept in printed form off line if
required

Hello, tippcoman-ga!

The following online databases should contain most of the social,
arts, and sporting events in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

The Official Dallas Forth Worth Area Tourism Council Web Site
===============================================================

"Year-round Fun - The D/FW area has great events, festivals and shows
all year-round for everyone. Browse the Calendar - If you know when
you are coming to the D/FW area or have a specific type of event, you
can see all the events within the month by clicking on the month
below."

* I was even able to find numerous upcoming conventions on this site
as well. (For example, a search for the keyword "convention" brought
up the Dallas Auto Show)

I hope these databases are helpful. They may not be perfect, but I
believe they are as close as you can get to a unified event calendar
online.

thanks for the effort, but I had all these links. To visit all of
these, adn then combine with different formats, etc, would be
extremely painfull, and still very incomplete, for instance, car
clubs, automorve events, charities, many usch items arent in any of
these data bases.

To be perfectly honest, if the event resources I compiled are
unsatisfactory, I believe you have asked a next-to-impossible question
to answer. It is very frustrating for a researcher to spend time
researching a question, compile an answer, and then have the customer
come back to say, "Sorry, I had already found this information."
Researchers are not mind readers and in situations like this, it
translates into wasted effort and unpaid time.
I still truly believe that these online resources are the best you
will be able to find, even if somewhat incomplete. I think the first
link I provided, for the DFW Tourism Council, is the most complete and
diverse in terms of events. No - you won't get every single event, but
you will likely get all those that are expected to draw the most
interest and the largest crowds.

sorry that question frustrated you, I had already had an employee work
all day on it, and used the word "unified" to clarify what I needed,
which was not abunch of different links, all of which we had. They all
have different formats, and diiferent focuses, ie, social vs business,
vs charity, etc. Any of the provided links could provide nearly
complete infor for a given segment. I use the google expert service a
lot, and have really good results, and frankly, have never had anyone
frustrated by a question, or clarity, but, admitadly, all questions
were either answered adding value, or, not answered at all. Thanks for
the link, but your comment at the end of the answer says it all, they
are as close as i can get, but 8 links dont approach a unified
solution.

I appreciate your honesty. Perhaps I should have simply provided one
of the links as opposed to providing a choice.

didnt provide an answer even close, I needed a unified solution, was
provided multiple links.
