Dear kelvin2487-ga, In Mythology, Psyche was a beautiful young princess who was loved by Cupid. The story first appeared in Lucius Apuleius' novel, The Golden Ass, but probably came from a folk story. You can read of her and their love affair on these pages. http://www.pantheon.org/articles/p/psyche.html http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/features/mythical/psyche.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupid_and_Psyche If you wish to read a translation of The Golden Ass, you can download the story in pdf format (or other formats) on this link. On the pdf you need Chapter 22 (page 36). http://manybooks.net/titles/apuleiusetext99gldns10.html I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as soon as I receive it. Thank you answerfinder |

Psyche is the Greek word for the soul. She was loved by Eros (Cupid is his Latin name) and the tale can be seen as an allegory for the way that the soul comes to learn erotic love. |
