Hi again,

Just to clarify my question, The costs I am looking for are the costs
of delivered fuels (for transportation)

The costs should therefore be in (USD/GJ)

Hello Small_beutiful,

Please download the following document.
http://www.risoe.dk/rispubl/SYS/syspdf/energconf05/session5_aahman.pdf

And take a look at the figures supplied in Table 2 Estimated
Production Costs (page 7)

Also check out ?International Fuel Prices 2005 (4th Edition)?
This publication contains the retail prices for diesel and gasoline of
172 countries
Download here:
www.internationalfuelprices.com/

Is this the information you?re looking for?

Thanks,
Bobbie7

Thank you for the quick response. The second source gives prices in
different countries rather than global prices; and prices are given
there in $/Litre as opposed to $/GJ

Table 2 in the first source is exactly what I am looking for but I
noticed that the sources used to compile this table are a bit old. If
you can find data for 2005 or 2006, it will be highly appreciated.

Please let me know if you need more clarification.

OECD ? Scientific Challenges for Energy Research
Paris 17 ? 18.5.2006

- Crude 65 USD/barrel ~ 11 USD/GJ
- Natural gas price 5 - 6 USD/GJ
- GTL: 28 USD/barrel ~ 5 USD/GJ (based on stranded gas, IEO 2005)
- CTL: 20 ? 50 USD/barrel ~ 3.5 ? 9 USD/GJ (Dapice 2004, Gielen & Unander 2005)
- Black liquor based methanol or DME ~ 11 USD/GJ (Ekbom 2005)
- Ethanol ~ 22 USD/GJ (Ekbom 2005)
- Forest residues to syngas and FT-diesel at pulp mill ~ 13 ? 16 USD/GJ (VTT)

H2 can be supplied at 15-20 USD/GJ (2020-2030)

Distribution (pipeline/LH2) adds 2 USD/GJ delivered

Liquefaction: 7-10 USD/GJ H2 delivered

Refuelling station cost 3-6 USD/GJ H2 delivered (incl. pressurization,
excl. decentralized production cost)

Hydrogen production costs

Costs of large scale hydrogen production at today?s energy prices:
- 10,30 USD/GJ coal
- 20,10 USD/GJ electrolysis (grid power)

For comparison: Gasoline price before taxes
- 3,00 USD/GJ
