My lease (New York City) expires on the 30th of the month. Can my landlord charge me for a full month if I don't move out until the following morning (July 1st)? |

Bluesox.... I recently moved and was advised to move out on the day my lease expired ( eg: the last day of the month ) as that is the day the rent is paid up until. Steph53 |

I would suggest contacting the Office of Rent Administration. Rent InfoLine: 718-739-6400 It would be important to have a copy of your lease agreement when contacting that administration. |

Steph53, this may sound old-fashioned..but why not ask the landlord if you can stay the extra day.. offer 1/30th of the rent (cash in hand for the extra day. |
