Hi.

Can someone provide/find for me a working bookmarklet that sets my
active IE broswer window to being "Always On Top"?

I am *not* looking for (the many) similar solutions out there that are
not bookmarklet based - I really do specifically require a pure
javascript bookmarklet to do this.

My IE version is: 6.0

thanks
Andrew

Try this:

javascript:s=document.body.appendChild(document.createElement('script'));s.id='top';s.language='javascript';void(s.src='http://www.bytefreq.com/blog/top.js');

It seems to work.

Thankyou. The remote top.js file call over http does indeed work, but
I've also noticed some issues with this solution, generally.

Basically it doesn't work well with other applications. For instance,
I'm unable to close MS Outlook dialog boxes, and it steals control
away from other windows and stops me giving them focus and working
with them. The point of always on top, is that it lets you continue
working on other things, albeit with the window of interest remaining
visible like a dashboard.

Are there ways to overcome these issues?

Hi I tested it and it works on my local machine quite well.
Unfortunately I need to roll this out to something like 600 users,
hence the wish for a pure bookmarklet with no file deployment worries.
This is very close (best I've seen so far, that's for sure) but not
exactly perfect.

However, is it quick to repoint the script to find top.js at a public
web location? that would certainly do.

I've uploaded top.js here to test, if that helps:
