For some time now I have had a strange apparent bug/feature whereby in
some of my larger word documents, small parts of the text changes for
no apparent reason into different languages, e.g. Spain(modern),
Swedish, German, English (Canada), etc.   My default langauge is set
as English (UK).  I regularly do global replaces based on language
property and get rid of all the new langauges, but a few days later
back they come, sometimes in in the same old text that I had
DEFINITELY changes back to English(UK)!  BTW, this is obviously not
just happening in imported text or anything like that.

I am using Windows XP, Office 2003, absolutely all XP and Office
updates, up to date McAfee virus Security Suite, and a pretty well
maintained laptop in general.

Any ideas?   (I am happy to increse the price of this question by way
of extra tip if it looks like it is taking a lot of effort to find the
solution.

Thanks for the comments - I feel certain that there must be some sort
of better fix for this.  But its the sort of thing that only someone
who has solved this direct problem before will probably know.   Any
more ideas gratefully received.

I understand that Word is not considered 'stable' when dealing with
large documents.

I've experienced similar problems myself, including the introduction
of unwanted formatting effects.

This used to concern me but now I convert my smallish docs into pdf
files and (providing that all fonts are embedded) these do appear to
be stable even when they are converted into large files.
