Question ID: 740555
Can anyone tell me if there is a place on the internet that has the
format for legal pleading documents? I am starting a new assignment
Monday and they want me to do a Memo of Points and Authorities right
off the bat. I have done it before but I am a little rusty. I am in
California, so I am asking about CA state forms. Thanks. Any help is
appreciated.

I think this is what you need:

CA Legal Forms
http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/forms.cgi
..."Judicial Council and the Administrative Office of the Courts forms
are provided as Adobe Acrobat documents (PDF) that you can print on
any computer for which an Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 or newer is
available. Forms indicated as fillable may also be filled out
electronically. Non-fillable versions of all forms are also available.
Forms are organized by category in the pulldown list below. Individual
forms may also be accessed by number..."

Does this work?

That site has the pre-printed forms that courts require. What I am
looking for is the format for pleading documents, such as Points and
Authorities, Requests for Admissions, etc. The pleaded documents need
to be typed up on a word processor; they are not pre-printed court
forms.

Thanks.

Is this better?

http://www.casp.net/doc-1a.html
http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/courts/courtsofappeal/4thDistrictDiv1/proper/SampleFormL.pdf
http://www.kinseylaw.com/attyserv/civil/lawmotion/notmofthrrfa.html

I can find more, just let me know if this is along the right track.

Yes, that is very helpful. casp.net/doc-1a.html seems to be what I
need, except the Table of Authorities is omitted. I've done that
before, however. Anything else you have on this line would be
appreciated.

If you're in California, don't you have the Rutter Group? What about
the Matthew Bender Forms of Pleading and Practice? (we called those
the "baby blues") Rutter Group is INDISPENSABLE!
