How can a stocks share price be lower than the stated dividend? For
example, on my TDAMERITRADE account, one particular stock is trading
at .08, with a stated dividend of $ 0.90...how is this possible?

Thank you for your comments. To clarify, the names of the companies were
FTUSQ (Factory 2 U Stores- which did file for bankruptcy) and VHTI
(Banyan Hotel Trust).

Basically no one believes they will ever pay the dividend or pay so
slowly that the price tanks. Perhaps they are in bankruptcy or owe
someone with the power to collect a lot of money.

Where did you see that either of these stocks announced or paid a 90
cent dividend, and when?
VHTI seems to be trading for about 8 cents, but where I looked, dividend was "N/A".
FTUSG seems to be trading for a fraction of a cent and also shows no dividend.
