I don't think it's possible, for two reasons:
1. Each provider of 800/888/877/866 #s (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Qwest,
plus all the smaller companies, plus all the VOIP companies, etc.)
would have their own database of which of their #s are assigned to
whom. Each provider gets blocks of #s allocated to them, and then they
assign the #s to individual lines. There is no central database.
2. Even if you could overcome reason #1 (by, for example, finding out
which company provides the 800# service - I think there might be
databases for THAT), I suspect the company considers it private
information, and would not readily give it out unless you had a good
reason (court order/subpoena, or the like). |
