The subject is "Argument". I am looking for a text, a reference, a web
site or any combination including periodicals on this subject. The
idea is to find out all forms of argument from the Greek syllogism by
Aristotle to the modern forms of symbolic logic. Books on logic only
or rhetoric only are not broad enough. I have located 7 or 8 forms in
a range of different texts. There must be a great many more given the primary
use of Argument in Law, Philosophy and Theology.

Here's a start; the Stanford Encyclopedia entry on Aristotle's logic,
with the forms of the syllogism:

Have you tried searching Google with: define:argument

You will get about 25 definitions with links to the sources, and at
the top of the page there are links to "related phrases" that included
"argument".
