Does any one know where I can find math formulas to convert Brinell Hardness to Rockwell c? I need to go from about brinell 100 to brinell 500. I have found charts but no formulas. Need to insert in computer program instead of inputting complete chart. Thanks Robert 3rrotec |

Hello Robert, I think I have some info that will help you. As you probably already know, there is no correlation between Rc and BHN from about 100 to 200 BHN. For numbers in that range Rb is used. There are formulas for values from Rc 20 thru 66. Here is the only reference I could find: http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:sJyr0RSyIiAJ:www.me.wpi.edu/Research/CAMLab/students%2520%26%2520thesises/pdf/THESIS-Amajit.pdf+equation+brinell+rockwell+ppt&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1 I tried to copy the formulas, but my computer locked up. You may have better luck at that than I had. You can solve the formulas shown for BHN. You would certainly like to have one formula that would work for the entire range, but that is not possible. If you have trouble with any of this, please ask for a clarification and I will try to help. Redhoss |
