I need to quote a Source Authority and haven't had any luck in my searches thus far. The question is: On average, what is the percentage amount that a family with children must devote from their total income to their children for education, health, etc.? Would it, for example, be 15%, or 30%...or what? My reason for this is to compare disposable income from gay unions to straight ones. Thanks, Jim |

How much money can be set aside would depend on what the total income of the individual(s) is and how many children they are supporting. For example, hypothetically, a family of four (Husband, Wife, 2 children)and the husband makes $100,000 the wife makes $75,000 gross income. Then they would have to take their net income for the year, subtract the cost of monthly bills and necessities then the remaining total would be what they could allocate for children's education and health. Now, because all of those (income, number of children, cost of monthly bills, etcetera) are variables and never a constant then you couln't come up with an average to set aside. It all depends on the situation of the family. |
