My dad has an old PC program that sends a printout to COM1 of a PC. This is the serial port and I want to upgrade his PC and printer but he still needs to use this program. I have tried a USB - serial convertor to try and fool it into printing by USB but that didn't work. I have also tried to a MS Loopback and sending all data for COM1 to the printer but that only works for LPTx. I have also tried some software to convert com ports but these only acted as a "virtual cable" between different com ports. I basically want to print from this program from my laptop (only usb connections) and chuck his PC out! Please help! | |
