1. "What to Expect When You're Expecting" "What to Expect the First Year"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0761134603/sr=8-2/qid=1151699152/ref=pd_bbs_2/102-3776410-7891324?ie=UTF8

My wife has read both of these and they were very helpful to us with
both of our children.

2. "Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007XWN0K/sr=8-4/qid=1151699307/ref=pd_bbs_4/102-3776410-7891324?ie=UTF8

This is a wonderful reference book. It will help describe terms that
you may not have heard of and is more than 600 pages of good
information.

3. "The Baby Book: Everything You Need to Know About Your Baby from
Birth to Age Two"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0316778001/102-3776410-7891324?v=glance&n=283155

This is a good early childhood development book.

4. "Life Before Birth: Normal Fetal Development"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0723424756/102-3776410-7891324?v=glance&n=283155

This is a much more technical book and may be too much so, but if you
are after scintific, this is it.

5. "A Child Is Born"
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0385337558/ref=pd_bxgy_text_b/102-3776410-7891324?ie=UTF8

This is a less technical look at fetal development.

I The first book mentioned (it is actually two books)has great
information and is a "must have" if you are expecting or know someone
that is. I have personally ready parts of all but two of the books I
listed.

I hope you find this helpful.

Thanks!

I used to work in a bookstore. We sold numerous copies of "What to
Expect When You're Expecting" to repeat customers who liked the book
so much that they bought extra copies to give to friends and relatives
who were pregnant. I never heard a negative thing about this book.
