I'm looking for the title of a movie I once saw but remember very
little about. This is what I recall:

Near the beginning of the movie the female lead finds the body of a
murder victim, but when she brings the police the body is gone.
Nobody believes her about the murder. I believe there is a romance
between the main character and a reporter, but I'm not sure about
this.

I saw this film on Turner Classic Movies within the past 6 months, and
I believe the main actress was pretty well known.

This is a black and white movie. Sorry that's all I can recall about it!

Does this sound like the movie? Trouble erupts in a quiet New England
town when a man's body is found in the woods. The problem is that
almost everyone in town thinks that they had something to do with his
death. A boy is walking through the woods when he hears some
suspicious noises and then finds the body of a man named Harry. He
tells his mother, who recognizes the man as her ex-husband. She, along
with the elderly CaptainWiles and the spinster Ivy Gravely, believe
they will be prime suspects when Harry's body is found, so they
conspire to bury it, with the help of artist Sam Marlowe.

No, in this movie the woman found the body in a house.

I think the movie was more of a comedy/romance than a murder mystery.
It was just a run of the mill movie from (I think) the 40s or 50s.

If it's any help, I think that near the beginning of the movie there
were three or four actresses who played a group of friends that the
main character ran around with. I'm not totally sure about this.
Sorry to be so vague!

Hi Rachel,
Maybe this synopsis helps jog your memory of "Blow Up".

http://www.filmsite.org/blow.html

You are right, at the beginning of the film, there is a scene with a
few girls in miniskirts, as I remember, rushing up some narrow stairs,
to the photographer's studio, I believe. He had a convertible car.

This is a scene of Vanessa Redgrave with the man in the park:

There is also a scene in the film in which a group of people pantimime
playing tennis without rackets or a ball.

Still the wrong film?

Thanks for the effort myoarin, but I'm almost certain that's not the right movie.
