I would like to find a good framable print, a fine reproduction, of
John William Waterhouse's red chalk sketch, "The Lady Clare [Study]"
of 1900 and apparently in private hands. It can be seen at
http://johnwaterhouse.com/view.cfm?recordid=98. My search so-far has
found only one website where a painter offers to copy it for me. I
don't want someone's interpretation of it; Is there anywhere I can
purchase a photographic/oleographic/chromolithographic/etc. copy?
Thank you.

For both your question you could try the Bridgeman Art Library. Search
their database and you will see both images. You can download an image
as a 58MB Tiff file or smaller 5.07MB jpeg. However, you would have to
register, negotiate terms of licence, and find out the cost.

An alternative is to try their other site: Bridgeman Art on Demand.
The picture is not listed, but they do say ?Contact us directly if you
are unable to find the image or size that you are looking for.?
That may be worth trying this seeing as it appears on their other site.

These are the catalogue details.

Head of a Girl: Image ID CW 94847

If you are successful, I would be happy to post this as an answer.

To Answerfinder-ga:

You're quite remarkable! I took the information and emailed Bridgeman
Art on Demand seeking to have prints of the two pictures -- details
enclosed re their listings on Bridgeman Art Library. If they tell me
they can offer physical copies I shall let you know immediately and
ask you to post your comment as the answer. For both questions, of
course. Have a great holiday weekend!

To Answerfinder-ga --

Bridgeman has responded that, indeed, it can provide fine prints of
both sketches in various sizes and finishes.

So please do post your comment as an answer to both questions.

Thank you so much,
Marc
