The answer is probably "yes," but it depends on exactly what you mean
by "initialize." There is an Initialize operation for array disks and
a different Format or Initialize operation for virtual disks. There
are also other operations that could be considered initialization. If
you can specify exactly what you mean by "initialize," I may be able
to find an answer.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

This would definitely make the data unavailable, however, I would not
consider it acceptable for securely wiping the disks (if that is your
intention). A application specifically geared for multi-pass drive
cleaning would be best suited for that.

I think your question was not so clear.

i will try answering like this. you will not loose any data if you
have aleady initialised the Disks preor to instaling the Arrey
manager. in win 2k3 it has to access the os to support the diskd. but
in win 2k it has the capability to do itself.
There are two types of initialization. one through the OS and one
on the RAID controller. if its done and some data is copied in the
disks and then you install the Arrey manager. you will be able to see
and use the disks as usual. but if you need other partitions or
reconfigure the disks you will loose the data. and its non recoverable
( one initialization starts.)
