This looks like a very interesting question. However, I want to be
certain the correct articles are used in answering your question.

Can you confirm for me that you are interested in comments about two
Business Week articles, both appearing in the August 31, 2000 issue:
"Corporate America is Both Hero and Villian" and
"Setting the Stage"

The reason I ask is, the articles I find titled "Setting the Stage" at
the Business Week web site have content and dates that are
inconsistent with the nature of your question. In addition, I find no
reference to the other article. This may simply mean it is not part
of their online collection, however, I wanted to confirm.

People who are really pro-big business maybe reluctant to answer
questionnaires - so I'd look for a bias towards the anti-business.

I believe that Corporate America has done a very poor job in educating
the general public as to what executives actually get - it should be
no shock that they get perks. People have to understand that with
rank comes privilege, that's what America has done a bad job of
educating people about. If people want the privileges they too can
have them if they aspire to the high ranks.
