Hi lapchick-ga,

In the context of "Wellness", Network Entrainment is a Chiropractic
technique associated with Network Spinal Analysis, which proponents
describe as "an innovative new approach to wellness".

A Network Spinal Analysis session would typically involve being "asked
to lie on a special table, fully clothed, while the practitioner
checks your spine. The practitioner will palpate (feel) your spine and
muscles and perform a series of parameter checks (heel tension,
eversion stress, abduction stress, adduction stress...)."
"Frequently Asked Questions at the Healing Loft"
http://thehealingloft.com/faq1.html

The entrainment itself comes next: "From the information gathered,
s/he will deliver a specific light touch entrainment and allow your
body to process that information. Then the doctor will re-check and
see whether another entrainment is necessary. A typical session may be
just one or two entrainments or several entrainments, depending on the
needs of your body at that time."
(from the same website referenced above).

"Entrainment" is a word with various meanings. It can mean getting
onto a train, but here it is used closer to its meaning in physics
where one oscillating body "trains" another to match its oscillation.
Again from the above webpage: "The classic example shows individual
pulsing heart muscle cells. When they are brought close together, they
begin pulsing in synchrony."

The entrainment process of Network Spinal Analysis is described by The
Healing Loft as the elicitation of two body waves - respiratory and
somato-psychic - which will resonate with the member's feelings,
transforming negative thoughts into positive thoughts and promoting a
state of liveliness, serenity and improved health and wellbeing.

Other questions, such as "How will my body respond during the
entrainment?", are also addressed on the above-referenced web page.

Another clinic that offers network entrainment stresses that during
the session they "apply very light and gentle touches to different
parts of your spine and ask you to direct your attention and breath
into certain areas of the body".
"DiscoverWellness (UK) Consultation"
http://www.discoverwellness.co.uk/consultation.html

"Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) is an evidenced based approach
to wellness and body awareness. Gentle precise touch to the
spine cues the brain to move from defence posture and stress
physiology to peace, growth, health and wellness. NSA is
exclusively practiced by Doctors of Chiropractic ... During
Network Care, two "healing waves" develop which are unique
to Network. One is a breathing wave that releases tension
throughout the spine and body and relaxes the person. The
other is called a somatopsychic (or body/mind) wave, which
is associated with a dolphin-like undulation or movement of
the spine. These waves are related to a significant increase
in wellness and quality of life."
