I need an inexpensive way to store two 9foot surfboards in my garage.

I keep both boards in nice padded bags, but that shouldn't matter.

I am looking for maybe a pulley system to keep them on the ceiling of
the garage as there is not much room on the walls.

Any links to solutions would be appreciated. Especially solutions
under $80 that a layman can install. Must be something that doesn?t
take lots of physical strength or effort to get the board stored and
unsorted.

thanx in advnce

Would this storage pulley lift meet your needs?

I was looking for something more surfboard specific, but if there
sin't anything I guess that would do.

Dig a hole and slide them in.

Should be easy enough to get a suitable cover.

What about having a loop or hook on the ceiling to hold one end, and
then hoist the other end with a line and pulley? Using loops, one on
the ceiling, one on the line, you would slip the loop on the line
around the foot of the board, then raise and slip the prow through the
ceiling loop, immediately then hauling up the other end. The pulley
should be a little closer to the ceiling loop than its own loop is on
the board to assure that pressure is applied towards the prow (Second
pulley near the wall to keep the line out of the way.)
The ceiling loop should be loose enough to allow the board to tilt
down when lowering, or maybe the board can be inserted bottom up, and
the curve of the brow allows this with a shorter loop (not a ring of
loop, a strap fastened at two points on the ceiling).

Still not a thousand words, but I hope you get the picture. :-)

A couple of eyelets screwed into the ceiling with a couple bungie
cords of appropriate length should hold them...
