I know it sounds werid but it was a good tune. I think the song was called ''Make Love'' but i just cant find it anywhere. The song was played on MTV dance alot when it was out. Hi richievts, I believe the song you are thinking of is "Love and Affection" by Mr. Pink [Joey Negro Mix] You can listen to it here: (Click on the icon for "Love and Affection") http://www.beatport.com/artist/Mr.+Pink Mr Pink presents The Program "Love & Affection" "This new hit is from the teaming up of one relatively unknown DJ and Dave Lee (aka Joey Negro, Raven Maize, Jakatta and many more names besides!) It's a cover of the Joan Armatrading classic in a trancy style, and seems to have been in clubland and on dance radio shows for an eternity. Naturally, it isn't able to live up to the standard of the original, but as a trance tune it works, and is certainly listenable." http://www.ukmix.org/reviews/release.php?release_id=1129 Another review: "Despite the fact that many still refuse to believe America can be on top of it's tunes, we happen to know that this single from Manifesto is currently all the rage overseas... entering the UK charts at 22 only after 2 weeks in stores. Oddly enough, it's a reworking of an old Joan Armatrading song, souped up with slices from Joey Negro and Dave Lee, aka Jakatta ("American Dream"), that's about as fabulously fun as it gets. This is the tune that gets people smiling at each other on the dance floor, bringing some much needed light to the tribal tastes of today. If the sound clips don't make you smile, you're just bein' stubborn." http://perfectbeat.com/product_info.php?products_id=731458892120 At the forum below, you will see reference to the video: http://www.dancefrontdoor.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=28&t=3860 The cd is available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005U4XW/103-7368455-0542238 and Amazon UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00005U4XW/026-0051614-6192472 This song is is also found on the cd New! Pepsi Chart Album 2002 [IMPORT] available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005Y49G/103-7368455-0542238 Search strategy: After finding the song with the lyrics provided, I searched via Google Music for all versions of this song ://www.google.com/musicsearch?id=hkMx3QAA5MK until I found the version you were looking for. The girl that sang "(It's) Murder on the Dance Floor" had a follow up song, in that video I seem to remember Mannequins. Cheers |

If the video you're looking for is the one aussietpp remembers, which does indeed have lots of mannequins, it would be Sophie Ellis Bextor's "Get Over You." It's referenced on this page describing music videos that use mannequins/robots. You can click on the little cameras under her name and get some still shots of the video, and also click on her name, which will take you to her website. In the "My Music" section you can listen to a clip of the song to see if it's the right one. (Look for Bextor, Sophie Ellis) http://www.many-realms.net/master-list/videos.html |

Hi guys, its neither of the above :( In the video it featured only 2 mannequins, im pretty sure the song was called 'make love' and the lyrics were aong the lines of ''sing it sing it sing it - make looove, lovvin wooo-hoo'' lol i sound like a raving looney but i swear it was an excellent dance track. I'm offering a good tip to anyone who cracks this for me. Thanks again for the guesses guys, the search continues :) -Richie |

I believe I have found the song you are thinking of. However, it was remixed into a dance version and I have not yet located the name of the artist who sang this version. I'll keep searching. Best regards, Rainbow |

If by "artist" Richie means the lead female vocal, that would still be Joan Armatrading, I think? They've just sampled small bits and pieces of the original, played with the tempo, and probably filtered the sound of of her voice and the backing vocals in some way (in my limited understanding of how they do remixes). It seems to me from listening to the complete original that only the spoken words aren't Armatrading, and the description below also seems to suggest that the vocal core of the song comes from the original recording. I guess the djs are considered the "artists," however, when remixes are made? It's an interesting genre. "Messrs Lee [Joey Negro] and Sullivan [Mr. Pink] take the classic original and twist it around a thunderous, insanely funky disco-house groove[,] making this update of 'Love & Affection' a slab of primetime house gear that'll move most floors without fail." http://24.0.235.161/dws/news/news_2002.html |
