I'm looking for information on the drowning of Beryl Bass who was a
resident of Mamaroneck, NY.  He was knocked overboard on a sailboat in
Long Island Sound sometime in the 1970s.  I would like details of the
incident, if possible, or enough information to be able to obtain the
Coast Guard report.

Beryl Bass was a resident of New Rochelle, NY.  The incident happened
prior to 1978.  It occured in October.

Unfortunately I can find no details about the accident but I believe I
did find enough information to prepare you for inquires with the Coast
Guard and other authorities.

The name of the fellow you are asking about is officially listed as
BERL BASS, 136-24-1255 born May 21, 1929. According to the Social
Security Death Index the accident apparently occurred sometime in
October 1976.

Further, armed with this information I managed to find another
credible reference to his death. According to the Columbia University
Health Sciences Library College of Physicians and Surgeons Obituary
Database, Dr. Berl G. Bass of Mamaroneck, New York, died on October
22, 1976

With his properly spelled name, middle initial, date of birth, social
security number and exact date of death you should have all the
information you need to get an accident report, death certificate or
