Greetings flowrush! Basically, that file is a harmless Java-related plain text file that helps trace error messages. Apparently if you delete it then it will just be written back. As stated on the sun.com site: "...this is a file that records all the System.out and System.err messages. The trace file is disabled by default but is automatically enabled when the Java Plug-in Console is enabled.": http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/debugger.html#jpitf Here's a short newsgroup thread on it: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=53e201c261cf%24d7a31930%243aef2ecf%40TKMSFTNGXA09&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dplugin140_01.trace%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26selm%3D53e201c261cf%2524d7a31930%25243aef2ecf%2540TKMSFTNGXA09%26rnum%3D1 I hope this information is helpful. If you would like for me to clarify any of it, please let me know. leep-ga search strategy used-- looked for ".plugin140_01.trace" on Google Groups: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=.plugin140_01.trace&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wg ".trace file" on Google: ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%22.trace+file%22 |
