Question ID: 743922
I'm looking for a person who can answer me questions about LATEX.
I am a beginner and I spent a good amount of time trying to do simple
tasks. Then, I would like to hire the services of some expert that
could help me with the simple tasks that I need to do. I can pay that
person per question he answers or we can agree in some other way. Can
you help me to find this person? Thanks!!!

Dear Jcristia,

First of all, if these are simple questions, it is possible that what
you need is not an expert in the Latex industry, but someone who has
knowledge in locating such information, such as a Google Researcher.
In this case, just post the questions here, and Google Researchers
will answer them. In the worst case, if the question is unanswerable,
you lose your listing fee.

But I have found experts in the latex industry for you, in the Intota expert site:
Intota : Latex Experts
<http://www.intota.com/multisearch.asp?strSearchType=all&strQuery=latex>

David Shaw might be also a solution:
<http://allexperts.com/expert.cgi?m=1&catID=2470&expID=20216>

Rubber Consultants is a company that consults in these questions:
<http://www.rubberconsultants.com/>

Just like
The Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre
<http://www.tarrc.co.uk/>

I hope this answered your question. Please contact me if you need any
clarifications on this answer before you rate it. My search terms
were:
[industry expert latex]

Hi.

Maybe I was not clear in my earlier email. I need assistance about how
to use LATEX or TEX the software that is used to write academic papers
in Math and other sciences. I'm looking for a person that has good
knowledge about this program to help me with simple tasks such as
changing the margins for a specific page in the document or how to
include tables created in Word in a .tex document.

Thanks a lot.

Dear Jcristia,

Hey, you can't blame a girl for thinking about latex the whole time...

First of all, as before, I recommend asking here on GA, if its not too discrete.

Then, I also found some experts on Intota.

<http://www.intota.com/multisearch.asp?strSearchType=all&strQuery=LaTeX+software>

I hopoe this helps :-)

the place that the researcher recommended me (intota) was not very
useful. I needed a person to help to do some formatting of a .tex
document and he recommended me a site where the smallest project is
for $595.

I found by myself the answer to my question. The place suitable to
find help with my project was www.rentacoder.com

I have no doubt that many GARs and commenters have ample knowledge of
the various TeX typesets, including LaTeX. However, unless you are
specifically required to provide your documents in postscript, try
using OpenOffice.org's Math program (free), or MathType (30-day
trial).

OpenOffice.org Math: http://www.openoffice.org/product/math.html
MathType: http://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathtype/

MathType works directly with Word, and if you download the whole
OpenOffice.org suite, you can save them as .doc.

I prefer these methods, particularly OpenOffice, for creating
mathematical texts. Experts at LaTeX can take notes during a math
lecture on their laptop, but it takes time.
