Question ID: 744396
I am looking at importing some massage chairs from China. I have
verified that the model I want has FDA and FCC clearance anf the
company has a FDA number in the US. What concerns me is that the
model I am looking at only has a CE approval and in not yet UL
certified. (The company I am getting the chairs from works with many
large companies like Panasonic and Osim selling similar chairs)
What are the problems I open myself to by bringing in these chairs if
they do not have a UL approval? Can I sell them here in the US
without a UL, ETL or MET approval?

Thanks,

Oscar

Basically, I just want to know is it legal to bring products such as a
massage chair into the US and sell it with only the clearance from the
FDA, FCC and the european CE certification. Yes or No

This is at least a $ 20 question, for two bucks you can expect a
researcher to give you basic information like "were/how do I find out
about UL info" or "Is ETL the same as UL?".

You need to up the price a tad if you want an answer.

I already know the difference between CE and ETL and UL certification.
I already know where to find info on it. I just want a simple yes/no
answer is it legal to sell an item like a massage chair here that was
imported without a USA certification of some type for safety. (BEsides
the FDA approval it already has)
