Question ID: 744544
I am looking for a company which provides a "virtual phone number".
Let me clarify that - I am looking for one specific company, whose
name I used to know but can no longer remember. I found the company
online, wrote the name down, and promptly lost it. A correct answer to
my question will be to figure out, from my description below, what the
name of the company is.

The company provides a "virtual phone number". In other words, they
give you a number (in an area which you select) and you forward this
number to any other number. The service doesn't actually provide you
with a phone line, as there is no phone service (either landline,
wireless or VoIP) associated with the number. All service does is
provide a redirectable number which can be redirected at will via
their website.

I believe the cost for this service was around $5/mo. I realize I
could simply get a low-usage VoIP plan for about $10/mo, never plug
the router in, and forward the number, essentially re-creating this
product at a higher price. But I would really like to track down the
service I was looking at before.

Help!!

Is this what you were looking for? If not, I'll search a bit more.

No, that's not it. That web site seemed a bit buggy; I could not view
the list of exactly which areas they had in inventory.

This did jog my memory a bit, though, so now I have a couple more clues:

1. I believe the one I had looked at only charged the monthly fee, not
a per-minute fee as well.

2. It was a fairly short, snappy website name - not as long as
"virtualphoneline.com"

Good luck!

Is it one of these?

http://www.telphinusa.com/

www.pbnext.com

If not, are you 100 percent sure that it was $5.99 a month? All the
ones I'm seeing other than that one are $9.99 a month, but I don't
reply with those as they don't meet the criteria. If it's possible it
could be one of those, I'll give you some of those. Let me know if
this is not it!

Cheers,

The service is $4.00/Mo I think.
Hope this is useful
