Work has just issued me a Blackberry, which, I think, uses Windows to
store contact info. I'm a longtime user of Palm, though, and have
about 1000 contacts stored in Palm Address book. I know I can buy
software to convery Palm data into Windows format, but that's not what
I'm looking for. I want to keep using Palm on the Blackberry itself.
Is there any Blackberry model (or anything Blackberry-equivalent) that
will run Palm OS and allow me to keep working with my Palm databases
so that I have just one gadget in my pocket. Or am I screwed and have
to maintain a separate Palm and keep converting new contact data to
Windows and loading that onto the Blackberry? Thanks.

I'm a bit confused by the Windows part of your statements (are you
saying you currently use Palm and Linux or Palm and OSX?)...

Anyway...one part of your question: I want to keep using Palm on the
Blackberry itself. The answer to this would be no.

As to Blackberry 'equivelents'...sure you could look at a Treo 700p or
650 but perhaps your company has issued a Blackberry because it is
known to have superior security for email purposes and they are
setting up their severs to work with Blackberry. Blackberry is more
than just the PDA it is also the software backbone behind it which
provides enhanced security that makes it attractive to businesses.

Perhaps your employer will purchase the conversion software for you
since you are using the PALM for business purposes?
