Research on an artist from either germany or austria painting or
drawing during the nineteen twenties at the time of the Weimar
republic, his name appears to be Lom or something similar. Could even
be initials although I doubt it. The work in question is dated 1920.
It is a watercolour and satirical in nature.

The closest I could find is Karl-Walter von Lom, though I can't seem
to find a biography.  The following page is supposed to have a link,
but it's broken, and google's cache doesn't seem to be helping:

I can find lots of posters and prints from his paintings, such as
postershop (in many different languages to boot), but bio's seem to be
hard to find.

Thanks for the info on Von Lom. I had also found this. He is too young
and also the style is modern.
All very frustating, of course the lon could be initials I am trying
this but with no success yet

chekislovakia and is the bumbling policeman from Pink Panther movies?

it is not a painting with the title 'Lom' because it is of the 'Lom'
valley by chance?
