I am trying to find out the following:-
How many Internet Cafes are there currently in China and where are
they (both approximately if need be).
How does the licensing system work at national and provincial level
including requirements and qualifications for licenses, renewals. What
restrictions are there on the operating of the cafes?
Who are the licensees, where are they located, and where are their
cafes. How many do each have. A little bit of background on the main
licensees would be useful, or references to their web sites.
Do they operate under branded chains?
Information on the size and structure of the largest 5 chains if this is the case.
Who are the management of the chains/licensees (people) and where are they located.
Web Site addresses for the operators if possible.
Generally, what commercial activities are undertaken in the Cafes ?
how do they make their money, are they profitable?
What are the demographic details of the main users of the cafes?
Why are they so popular in China. It may be due to low domestic
internet/broadband penetration per home (cost? logistics?) but there
may be social or legal reasons as well.
References to useful web sites would be helpful. |
