I AM LOOKING INTO MAKING SEED BOMBS ON A SMALL SCALE.SEED BOMBS ARE A MIXTURE OF COMPOST CLAY AND SEEDS COMPRESED INTO AN SMALL EGG SHAPE PELLET WHICH CAN BE SCATTERED ONTO WASTE GROUND AND WILL SELF GERMINATE. THEY NEED TO BE MADE WITH A DRY MIXTURE TO PREVENT GERMINATION UNTILL THEY ARE RAINED UPON. I PERSONALLY THINK A TABLET PRESS IS MY ANSWER, BUT AM UNSURE IF THE PELLETS HOLD TOGETHER AND NEED A COST EFFECTIVE PRESS IF ONE EXHISTS. I HAVE LOOKED INTO ANIMAL FEED PRESSES ,ETC BUT ALL SEEM TO GOOD AND FAR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN I FEEL IS NESSESARY. MY QUESTION IS THERFORE THIS, AM I ON THE RIGHT LINES THINKING A TABLET PRESS IS THE MACHINE I NEED FOR THIS JOB OR IS THERE A DIFFERENT OPTION? WHAT IS THE BEST WAY FORWARD, HAPPY TO SPEND A FEW HUNDRED POUNDS BUT NOT THOUSANDS? I AM IN THE UK SO ANY ANSWER WOULD NEED TO APPLY HERE. |

A tablet press may be OK to make samples but would not have the capacity to produce commercial quantities of this sort of product. You need to look at a hammermill and some form of pelleting machine. |
