I'm looking for a pointer to a service that will ship wine and hard liquor. I am moving from Seattle, WA to New York City and have hired a moving company to move my personal belongings. The company I've hired will not move wine & hard liquor, so moving these is my responsibility. Ideally I would like to use a shipping service to ship these items to myself... So, how do I go about moving these? | |

Pack with newspaper so the bottles don't clink. Label as something else. |

If you're shipping during hot summer months, you'll want a refrigerated truck (for the wine). You might try calling a flower transport company - cooled trucks and they know how to pack fragile. Make sure the refrigeration stays on all the time during the transport to insure a constant temperature. |

Moving companies have packed closed bottles of wine and open/closed bottles of liquor for me. They took no special precautions other than what might be taken for glass. Here's what one mover recommends: http://www.mayflower.com/moving/full-service-movers/moving-tips/packing-tips.htm#tips12 |
