I need help with my PhD Thesis... I'd like a response to this question
by Sunday July 16th, noon PST please!
I need a list of companies, publications, and news media that conduct &
publish interviews (in any format) with business leaders and wealthy
individuals (in the US or abroad). I'm looking for companies that do
this as a regular business practice or a product they offer (e.g.,
bisnow.com, Larry King Show on CNN, The Actor's Studio (TV)).
I'm *not* looking for a list of newspapers, magazine, TV programs, or
other media that do this as an asside thing... for example, just as a
quoted reference in a report or article, or as a guest expert to
discuss a particular event (like stock analysts on CNBC), or as a
one-time feature program/article...
The company (publication, news media) I'm looking for must be
doing these interviews as a matter of course, all the time. For
example, there's a magazine called "Success" that publishes interviews
with successful small business owners in every issue.
I need a list of these companies, publications, or news media (with
hyperlinks please), along with what their approach is, who they
interview, and who their target markets are...
I also need to know some basic information about the market for this
type of product:
- total size (in $US annually, any time period after 2000 will do, and
trends would be very helpful). Great if you can find the size by
region, country, continent, or any other summarization.
- The target audience (or niche) for each company/publication/news
media. This is pretty important.
- How much do they charge for this service?
- Who do they typically interview? For example, do they focus on
small business owners, realtors, manufacturing industry sales reps, or
what?
I think that should cover it. |

mcubed-ga,
I've looked over your question a few times now, but I must say, it's
not at all clear to me what you want.
Yes, Larry King interviews CEO's, but he also interviews tons of other
people. So does Oprah. So does Imus in the Morning.
Unless you can clarify what's in, and what's out, of the list you
need, I don't think we can help you.
Looking forward to your reply.

Clarification of Question by

Thanks for your interest in my question.
Let me try to clarify things a bit more...
My Thesis examines the existing markets (companies/providers and
consumers) and market trends for sources of interviews with global
leaders in business. It will compare and contrast the levels at which
success strategies from global and domestic business leaders are
sought in the US.
My theory is that with the proliferation of the internet and free
trade, businesses and business owners in the US are becoming more
interested in the strategies used by successful business leaders in
other countries.
So with that in mind, I'm looking for US providers that make it their
business to publish information about the successful business leaders
in other countries. These US providers could be:
- magazines,
- TV shows,
- web-based newsletters,
- companies that publish this information for a fee (e.g., by subscription),
- podcasters,
- radio shows (traditional and internet).
What we can exclude would be:
- research companies (like Nielsen, Forrester, etc.),
- companies that may publish information about successful business
leaders in other countries as a one-off article, or interview someone
in a one-time segment of their shows as an expert guest, [so this
would include Larry King]
- your typical daily newspapers (unless its a regular column dedicated
to this subject)
- your typical periodicals like Money, Personal Finance, Kiplingers, etc.
- Most radio and TV shows related to the stock-market and investing
- Any media or company that:
a) focuses solely on a very narrow industry (e.g., only experts
in real estate investing are interviewed) or geography (e.g.,
www.bisnow.com which interviews people in the Washington DC area only)
b) appears to have no focus (e.g., www.businessofsuccess.com
which interviews authors and business people of all sorts from all
industries) or
c) interviews only US business people.
So what I need is a list of these companies (magazines, TV shows,
web-based newsletters, podcasters, radio shows).
I also need some general market data ($, segments, etc.) and trends
(growth/decline).
I hope this clarifies it better.
Thanks,
-M
