Hi,

I've been working on a Flash site I inherited that has many complex
parts. One small part is a text area that when hovered over the text
moves forward and changes color. This is accomplished via a few layers
and a short movie clip. I need to understand only how the developer
got the text to change color in the middle of the animation only.

Note: Please don't tell me how to do it some other way. This site has
dozens of these little nuances and I need to understand the strategy
of the original developer who is unavailable.

To assist you I placed a small (144kb) pared down version of the file
containing just a few text clips at
http://www.ilros.com/temp/index_temp.htm. For those of you that don't
have Flash MX 7+ then I?ve also included a link to a screen shot of
the Flash layers to give you some idea of what I'm dealing with. Note
that ?Car Rental Link7? uses ?Car Rental?. Also, I highlighted the
layer I?m interested in at the middle of the animation. (In the
beginning of the animation the text appears black and to the left
upper corner until the user hovers at which point it moves forward and
increases in size and centers and changes to white until the user
moves the mouse pointer away at which point it returns to the original
position and color.)

If you are proficient at answering these types of questions I have several more.

Thanks,

Steven
