Can you point me to a database that will allow me to determine the Median Value of houses in various Chicago neighborhoods? Most sources I have found simply compare recent sales in each neighborhood to determine value, and so something more specific - which might be based upon census data etc would be welcome. Also any site that also contains information on the socio-economic makeup of each neighborhood (age/marital status/income etc) would be very appreciated! | |

Yes, indeed, with Zillow you can virtually fly over neighborhoods and see recent sales prices - absolute amounts - and Zillow also gives a comparison of estimated prices for a chosen house relative to other houses, BUT you would have to see if Zillow calculates this for neighborhoods in the way you want. That is the easy part of your question. It may be more difficult to find the socio-economic information you want broken down by neighborhoods - a term you need to define. Post a clarification. |
