I would like a list of the names of all law professors/faculty in the
United States. By law professors, I mean any person who is associated
with a law school (both accredited and unaccredited) in the United
States who has either "professor" or "lecturer" in his/her title, or is
listed on the faculty page of the law school (i.e., no Teaching
Assistants). For example, here is the list for Harvard Law School.
http://www.law.harvard.edu/faculty/directory/

As output, I would like one compiled, alphabetized list, not a
bunch of links. Ideally, last name first. The list will probably be
something like 5000+ names long (although that's just a guess). I
would also like a quick review of your methodology just so I know what
you did and the scope of your answer (e.g., went to the website of
every law school listed in US News and world report 2006 law school
rankings and copied the faculty list). A list of the law schools
represented would be helpful if you piece this together from
individual law school sites (but not
necessary if you can find a comprehensive source).

I am ok with getting a list that is accurate within the last year or so
(i.e., I don't need updates for people who got hired or fired in the
last year, in case the source isn't completely current)

So the ideal answer would look like this

Doe, Jane A.
Doe, John M.
Smith, Jack T.
...
Zeno, Bob E.

5,000+ wasn't a bad guess!

I found a list of 7,352 law school faculty in the US.

Though pretty comprehensive, there is a substantial problem with the
list. The lawyer's names are only displayed 25 at a time, so that
compiling all 7,00+ names into a master list is a very large
task...much moreso than can be accomodated under the current question,
I'm afraid.

I'd be glad to show you how to creat the list yourself, if that would
suit your needs. You would then have access to all 7,352 law school
faculty names, and could generate a list at your leisure.

Let me know if that suits you.

Well, the $50 was so I wouldn't have to do exactly that kind of work
myself. Would you share your answer for $7.50? If so, I've already
lowered the price of the question, and you can just respond. Maybe I
can get a high school kid to do it cheap. If not, please let me know
so I can raise the price back up. Thanks!

A commentor (below) has provided a good potential source of
information. I suggest readjusting your price, and perhaps a
researcher (or someone looking for 'points') can compile the list you
need.

Good luck.

I am now simply looking for this source for this 7352 law faculty. I
will find a way to enter this data in myself.

The National Faculty Directory. You can find this in most large
research libraries. Your unviersity might have an electronic
subscription to this publication put out by Gale publishing.

Please give me some good points for this. I'am interested in becoming a reseacher.

Thanks! This is unfortunately in hard copy, and I need this in soft
copy. I don't have access to a university library. Also, someone
would have to sort this by law school faculty. Not sure how to give
points, as I am new to Google-Answers.
