I want to buy a cool-looking cellphone.

Here are my criteria:

1) I don't care about features. I don't want to be able to take
pictures, watch TV, check email, listen to music, etc..; I just want
it to look cool. If the only pretty
cellphones available are phones with a bunch of features, I'll live
with it.

2) Although I don't care much about the functionality of the
cellphone, I still want it to be well-constructed (not fragile) and
have good, clear sound. Hopefully, there's a model that people rate
highly in these aspects.

3) I'm not concerned with price at this preliminary stage, but it
would be especially helpful if you recommended models at a variety of
price points.

Please create a list of at least 5 cell phones that are
considered beautifully designed (and could you include at least one
Motorola model, since I'm somewhat partial to that brand)?

I hope this is doable.

I have such a specimen.

It's actually a stone from Brighton beach here in the UK that's shaped
like a mobile and a local artist has painted it to look like one.

He's called it Stone2Stone (after One2One a onetime service provider)
One2One was notoriously short of aerials and it became known as
None2One.

The Stone2Stone was/is every bit as useful as One2One and prettier as well.

I use it regularly to tell (imaginary) callers that 'I'm on the train' - as you do.

What's more it is not affected by Tunnels, so I'm always the envy of
my fellow passengers.

Highly recommended!

Motorola C115.
Black with a pretty blue backlight. The numbers etc. look absolutely
divine with this Azure Blue (Sky Blue) backlight.
Very well constructed, I have dropped it a few times - no damage.
Easy to use. No silly features like camera, video, music, realtones.
Just phone calls and SMS.
Can also vibrate.

Cost around $45 Australian dollars
Hands free kit to suit only $10

Cheers

I think that the phone I have is gorgeous - it's a Panasonic VS2 - two
shades of pink, baby and hot, and although it has some features like
1.3 mega pixel camera and MMS etc, it's not one of the super-featured
phones that cost a bundle. I often get comments because it's also not
a hugely well-known phone here in Australia as I bought it on Ebay
from Hong Kong...

It also comes in black and copper, all very nice colours in my opinion...

Here it is:

http://panasonic.co.jp/pmc/products/en/vs2/features01.html

I like it also because you can customise the coloured light that
flashes on the front - you can make it flash different colours for
when a call is incoming, or when you get a message etc... and it has a
large size screen inside and allows you to change backgrounds, themes
etc - all which cosmetically enhance the phone's appeal, making it, as
you require, more beautiful :)

I hope this helps!
