Can someone please let me know the name of the US TV show in which a
dating couple appear, and one of them goes out on dates with a 'love
rival' who tries to tempt them away from their partner? I think it's
on pretty regularly - probably in the afternoons? - but I just can't
recall the name. Thanks!

Could you be thinking of Temptation Island?

Looking forward to your clarification.

Or probably The Ultimate Love Test?

"The Ultimate Love Test" gives each couple the opportunity to test
their love and find answers to these difficult questions. After
agreeing to take "the test," the couples are separated. One of them
stays home while the other is sent to a spectacular resort in Cabo San
Lucas, Mexico where they are met by a person (or people) who
represents everything they feel is lacking in their current partner.
When faced with this option, will they choose to return to the one
they love, or to pursue another dream?"

Thanks for the suggestions Rainbow, and many apologies for the slow
clarification (I didn't get an email alert that you'd posted answers).
I'm afraid that neither of these shows is the one I'm looking for -
I'm familiar with both Temptation Island and the Ultimate Love Test.
The one I've got in my mind just involves one dating couple, and a
third person who's introduced into the mix in an attempt to persuade
one of the couple to up and leave. It could be the girl of the couple
who's tempted, by being taken out on a date by the new guy. While we
watch their date, we also see the girl's original guy commenting on
things - 'He's such a creep, she'd never go out with him' etc etc.
It's a fairly low budget show, and the ones I've seen were on during
the daytime in the US. I hope this might jog someone's memory!

Perhaps Dismissed?

OK Bobbie7... Much closer, but still not the one I've seen in the
past. I believe that Dismissed gets one (say) girl together with two
(say) guys that she doesn't know already. The show I've got in mind
*definitely* takes a couple who are already together, then introduces
a single whose mission it is to persuade the one of the couple who's
been set up with them to leave their original mate. Sorry - this is
turning out to be tougher than I thought. Both rainbow and bobbie7
have been great so far though! Cheers
